Join us on Mothering Sunday

Hello from Vicar Dave!

This weekend in Mothering Sunday - do join us at any of our services. Flowers will be provided for all the ladies! We truly appreciate you all!

Another piece of great news - Sunday Club is restarting on Sunday April 13th at 10am. Pass on the news and invite lots of children for a lotta fun. There will also be lots of fun, crafts, story and food at Messy Church on Sunday 6th April at 3:30-5pm.

  • PCC (Church Council) Elections The following people were elected at our AGM to serve on our Church Council (PCC): Linda Clitheroe, Roy Fox, Sara Sammons and Bryan Sexton. The following were elected as our reps on the Deanery Synod (and who automatically are members of the PCC): Don Barden, Steve Dolby, Christine Younger (and David is also on the Deanery Synod as a clergy member). Do pray for these people and approach them, and other PCC members, if you have any issues you would like to raise.
  • Lending Library in Church Foyer full of Christian material - borrow any of the books that interest you.  
  • Sound System The sound system has been moved to the back pew. Many thanks to John Pinnock and his team for carrying out this work. It has all been done (at no cost to the Church) in memory of Angie Pinnock.
  • Music and Worship Day with Stuart Townend and others at St Albans Abbey on Sat 10 May, 9:30am-5pm
  • L&D 75th anniversary event 9th April, 6:30pm at Barnfield West Academy 
  • Parish Lunch on Wed 2nd April 12:30pm. Sign up on list in the porch.
  • Coffee Morning The next Coffee Morning is on Saturday April 5th 10am-12
  • Prayer Meeting Sun 13th April 5pm. Do join us to pray together.
    • Children’s Society Elaine would like to arrange to empty all the boxes as soon as possible.  If it is easier for you would you please take to the church office.

      • Missionall Conference - Friday 28 March and Saturday 29 March at Stopsley Baptist Church. 
      • Diocese Centenary Celebration on Monday 25th August (Bank Holiday), 11-5pm, at Keysoe, Beds. Put in your diary - a great day out.

        Family gathering time….

        STOPSLEY PARISH CHURCH - ST THOMAS‘

        Hello from Vicar Dave!

        'Consider yourself part of the family'? If you are part of the StTs family then it would be brilliant to see you this Sunday - it is time for our annual church meeting. Every church needs a get together every now and again, and our church family is no exception. 'Consider yourself at home'. Come and join us....

        Because of that we will only be having one service this Sunday - at 10:30am. Join us then, and after that our annual meeting, and then a bring and share feast.

        Attached is our Annual Parish Report. Do pour yourself a cuppa and have a read.

        • Family Games Night. Sat 22 March, 7:30pm. Fun and Quizzes and Food! Book with Parish Office 729194.
        • Mothering Sunday. Join us next Sunday 30th to celebrate Mothering Sunday. Flowers will be provided for all the ladies.
        • Joint Service on March 23rd at 10:30am. There will not be services at other times on that Sunday so we can attend the AGM after coffee at 11:45am.
        • AGM on March 23rd at about 11:45am after the Joint Service. Come and join us for our yearly opportunity to meet up and think about all we are doing as a Church, and plan ahead for the future.
        • PCC (Church Council) Elections We need some new candidates to serve on our PCC, and also the Deanery Synod. 
        • Bring and Share Lunch on March 23rd, which we will eat after the AGM meeting.
        • Lending Library in Church Foyer We now have a lending library full of Christian material. We would encourage you to borrow any of the books that interest you.  The books on display will be changed every month so if there is nothing there when you look the first time please have another look next month………. 
        • Sound System The sound system has been moved to the back pew this week. Many thanks to John Pinnock and his team for carrying out this work. It has all been done (at no cost to the Church) in memory of Angie Pinnock.
        • Summer camp. June 20-22. Please take a leaflet on the camp and let the Parish Office know if you plan to attend.
          • The next Messy Church session is on Sunday April 6th at 3:30-5pm. Join us for lots of fun, story, activities and food. All welcome!
          • Funeral of Dalice Noble is on Monday 24th March at 11am at St Mary’s.

          • Music and Worship Day with Stuart Townsend and others at St Albans Abbey on Sat 10 May, 9:30am-5pm
          • St Thomas Parent and Baby Group would like to thank everyone who supported us at our cake and craft morning.  We raised just over £200 and are truly grateful.  We are so pleased to be handing half of the proceeds to Hands of Mercy.  Due to the success of the event we are going to repeat on a bigger scale in the summer, so keep a look out!
          • The Children’s Society collect the Luton News Community Cash Points - please give them to the Parish Office.
