I hope you all had a great Christmas and 2014 is going well so far.
I am having a few days break at the moment - back on Sunday - but I am taking a few moments to send our news. In particular I would like to invite you to our new series on the Teaching of Jesus from his Sermon on the Mount. Let's listen to Him as our Boss this year!

Midweek Theme is: James 1:5-11 Wisdom
Readings: James 1:5-11 (p1213), Mark 1:29-39 (p1002)

- 12 Jan - Matthew 5:3-12 Jesus on... Happiness
- 19 Jan - Matthew 5:13-16: Jesus on... Making a difference
- 26 Jan - Matthew 5:17-20: Jesus on... the Good Life
- At our Sunday Evening Services we shall be looking at the Old Testament book of Malachi.
- At our Midweek Services we are hearing from the New Testament book of James.
- Prayer Meeting Sun 12th Jan 5pm. Do join us to pray together.
- Children’s Messy Church Party on 26 Jan at 3:30-5pm. Children of all ages join us for a lots of fun, games, activities, drama and food. All welcome!
- Alpha/Christianity Explored We intend to start a new Alpha/ Christianity Explored course in 2014 - a chance to consider what the Christian faith can mean for life today. Let the Vicar know if you would like to know more.
- Flowers in Church There is a new flower rota on the notice board in the church hall. Please sign up for the month you would like to help and pass any money to Linda/church office or Bryan Sexton and enjoy the arrangements. Thank you for your support.
- Community Church restarts this Tuesday evening (14th Jan) at 6:30pm.
- Cafe Church Bible Study meets at 8pm.
- Luton Churches Education Trust have managed to purchase Bute Mills near the station as their new HQ. Congrats to them. There is a meeting on 16th Jan at Central Baptist Church at 7pm to find out more of their plans.
- Noah Update. Noah has requested no more clothing for the homeless for the time being. But hats, scarfs, gloves, socks are still urgently needed. They thank St Thomas for their continued support.
- Coffee Morning - thanks to everyone who supported this - £83.23 was raised.
- Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Event - Saturday 25th January 2014, 10am – 12.45pm, Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church Westbourne Road, Luton LU4 8JD. Main Speakers Rev Geoff Colmer Regional Minister and Team Leader, Central Baptist Association and Bishop Peter Doyle, Roman Catholic Diocese of Northampton.
- Pastoral Worker, David Newbound is off till end of January
- No meditation group until Febuary 5th
- Morning Prayers will be taking a rest after Christmas and over January - it will restart on Feb 3rd.
- Handel’s ‘Messiah’ - ‘Bring-and-Sing’ concert at All Saint’s church in Caddington on Saturday 18th January 2014. The rehearsal will be at 2pm followed by a break for tea and a 6pm concert.
